Kathryn Baker & Carey Clifton

The Baker Family Home was the setting on December 28th for the afternoon marriage of Kathryn Eileen Baker and Carey Thomas Clifton. The ceremony was officiated by Madre Annie Etheredge, chaplain at the Episcopal School of Acadiana. Kathryn is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Stephen D. Baker, and granddaughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Guy C. Ellison of Lafayette and the late Mrs. Gay Alexander Baker and Mr. John R. Baker of Baton Rouge. The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Paul J. Clifton of Sulphur, and the grandson of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Crouch and Mrs. Frances Foreman Clifton and the late Mr. AJ Clifton of Sulphur. 

Kathryn and Carey were introduced to one another by mutual friends in Baton Rouge while attending Louisiana State University during the Summer of 2010. After both graduated in 2011from LSU, Kathryn headed to Shreveport and Carey to Des Moines, Iowa to both pursue careers in the medical field. After two years apart this happy couple cannot wait to start their life together in Iowa. A bridesmaid's luncheon at La Fonda, given by the bride's relatives commenced the wedding festivities. The groom's parents hosted a lovely rehearsal dinner at Cafe Vermilonville on the eve of the couple's nuptials. Escorted by her father, the bride wore the "Regan" ball gown by Modern Trousseau made of pearl, cherry blossom duchess brocade with a strapless bodice. The gown featured a crystal applique at the waist and a chapel length train. The bride wore a matching crystal applique in her hair. The bride was adorned by her grandmother's stand of pearls and a borrowed diamond and sapphire ring of her mother's. Beverly M. Bridesmaids were Angelle McBride of Lafayette and Katherine Thompson of Durango, Colorado, both friends of the bride. Chadwick Anderson of Hattiesburg, Mississippi, friend of the groom, served as best man. The groomsmen were Chase Terrebone of Baton Rouge, friend of the groom, and Jacob Guillory of Sulphur, cousin of the groom. The scripture readers were Jeffrei Clifton, sister of the groom and George Jordan, cousin of the bride. Stephen D. Baker Jr. and John A. Baker, brothers of the bride, served as special ushers. 

Miss Baker is a graduate of the Episcopal School of Acadiana. She also earned her undergraduate degree in biology from Louisiana State University and masters in physician assistant studies from LSU health science center in Shreveport. Mr. Clifton is a graduate of Sulphur High School and earned a degree in kinesiology from Louisiana State University. He is presently pursuing a doctorate in podiatric medicine from Des Moines University. The bride and groom are headed to the Broadmoor in Colorado Springs for their honeymoon, which is the same destination the Bride's grandparents honeymooned in the 1940s.Searching for a Discount Prom Dresses for sale that's unique, fashionable and flattering?
